Expand your audience beyond the US and start engaging with subscribers in Canada.

Who is allowed to send SMS campaigns to Canada?

Given SMS regulations in Canada, you can only collect and send messages to Canadian subscribers if you are on a toll-free or 10DLC number (either US or Canadian).

If you are currently on a US short code, you will need to add an additional number among one of the following options to collect and send messages to Canadian subscribers:

- Toll-free number (US or Canadian)

- 10DLC number (US or Canadian)

- Canadian short code

Please get in touch with our customer support if you are on a US short code and would like to expand your SMS marketing to Canada. Once that extra number is setup, our system will automatically route message appropriately based on Canada or US.

How can I send SMS campaigns to subscribers in Canada?

1. Head to Settings > Account > Supported Countries.

2. Here you will see a list of countries that you can select for your SMS program.

3. Tick the Canada box to enable your SMS campaigns to be sent to subscribers in Canada.

Remember: you will only be able to activate Canada in the Supported Countries table if you are on a toll-free or 10DLC phone number. If you are on a US short code, please get in touch with our customer support to set up a Canada supported phone number.

NOTE: If you disable USA as a supported country, you will only be able to see your modals when you visit your site from a Canadian IP Address. Also, you will be unable to send SMS messages to US Numbers.

What happens when I enable Canada in the Supported Countries table?

Once you enable Canada, you will automatically be able to sign up subscribers in Canada without any additional effort.

All your List Building campaigns will automatically trigger for subscribers in Canada that opt-in to your SMS program.

In addition, all your Voyage Modals will automatically appear for shoppers browsing your website from Canada.

All your SMS campaigns will automatically be sent to subscribers in Canada unless you specifically filter them out (see next section).

How can I specifically target Canadian subscribers in my campaigns?

If you have successfully opted-in subscribers from Canada, you can specifically target them with Campaigns and Drips using our Segmentation builder with the following steps:

1. Select the filter country under Voyage.

2. If you have subscribers from Canada, you will see the option to select Canada from the list of countries.

3. Select Canada if you want to only target subscribers in Canada.

Note: If you do not select this filter, all your Campaigns and Drips will automatically be sent to both US and Canadian subscribers.
