Custom tailor your SMS campaigns even further by importing your Klaviyo campaigns and flows metrics data. Create dual SMS and/or email modals with a Klaviyo CTA to build your list using the right methods for the right audiences.

You can leverage the Klaviyo / Voyage integration to subscribe consumers to Klaviyo via a Voyage modal. Segment one-time campaigns based on various Klaviyo user metrics in email campaigns and flows, such as: has received / has opened / has clicked on campaign. You can also pull in Klaviyo lists as Voyage segmentation attributes.

Klaviyo Integration Setup

To connect your Klaviyo account to your Voyage account, click on Integrations within the Voyage web app [1]. On the integrations page, scroll down until you see Klaviyo [2] and click on the corresponding Activate button [3]:

On the Setup Connection page, you'll be asked to put in an API Token. To find this token, log into your Klaviyo account and click on your profile icon and name in the top right corner [1] then select Account [2]. Look for the Settings drop down to the right [3] and select API Keys [4]:

Look at the list of Private API Keys to see if one exists [1]. If not, then click on Create Private API Key [2]. Then click on the eye icon [3] to expose the full API key [4] so you can copy it over to Voyage's Klaviyo Setup Connection page:

Paste the API key into Voyage [1] then click Next [2]:

You'll see a success message when complete:

Klaviyo Integration Additional Steps

One of the pivotal challenges regarding the interplay between email and SMS is identity matching. In this way, the email / SMS integration is limited by the depth of identity data you have. When a brand has both email and phone number data, email and SMS data can be leveraged in segmentation and as trigger events for drips.

In order for the Klaviyo integration to work properly, Voyage must be able to match email addresses to subscriber phone numbers. To accomplish this, we need an active Shopify/BigCommerce integration enabled.

Using the Klaviyo Integration

To use Klaviyo data in your segmentation triggers (either directly in Segmentation, or as filterable criteria in Drips/Campaigns), first ensure the integration is active per the instructions above. Inside Voyage go to Segments [1] then click New Segment [2]:

Name your segment [1], then click Add Filter [2]. Click the drop down [3] and you should see a Klaviyo option [4] you can hover over to expose the campaign and list options [5] for a new segment:

Depending on your selection, there will be additional logic decisions that need to be made [1]. Add additional filters for the segment [2] as needed, and when you are done click Create Segment [3]:

Modal integration

Voyage offers the ability to configure a custom SMS lead capture modal with Klaviyo email capture integrated. Voyage can send email addresses directly to a Klaviyo list (all we need is a list id)! We recommend creating a list called "Voyage hosted modals" and having all email addresses sent there. This will enable you to easily see all emails that come in from a Voyage hosted modal.
